The greater availability of property data and other information allows many properties to be valued accurately at the desktop by valuers with knowledge and experience of the area and local property trends.
This type of valuation is mainly provided to mortgage lenders who set out their requirements and have an understanding of the risks. Purchasers are advised to have a physical inspection of the property they wish to purchase and preferably one of the available survey products.
A digital valuation will not provide any detail on the condition of the property as a physical inspection is not carried out.
